Dopamine dispensers --- likes on social media platforms, stars on GitHub, website clicks, etc. --- are inherently damaging and lead only to addiction.

Dopamine dispensers absolutely are dangerous and can promote harmful behaviour, but I've begun to think that, in moderation, they can be quite helpful and encouraging.
